Toronto Star doesn’t allow an account credit for time away

Dear Bird Talk,

Please advise all our members of a very dishonest policy the Toronto Star has installed without any notice to their readers. No credit will be permitted to your account when you leave for your annual trip (meaning, do not pay in advance or better still, CANCEL prior to new billing that would cover your time away). My e-mail to Jane Doe of the Toronto Star complaining of this unannounced policy was met with “that is the way it is." Some consumer champion, eh? The integrity of the Toronto Star and their consumer issues spokespeople needs to be questioned.

Ed.: You should never have to pay for something you do not get! Hopefully, they will come to their senses.
