The "30-Day Limit"
Posted date : Sep 11, 2017.
If Canadian snowbirds can’t deduct their "allowed days" during short times back in Canada (i.e. for Christmas) unless the visit lasts for 30 days or longer...do the U.S. regulations also state for any SHORT trips by Canadians INTO the U.S.   Read more...

Immigration rules and taxation rules: two distinct sets of rules
Posted date : Sep 29, 2015.
I've read with interest the various letters to Bird Talk in issue 94 of CSANews. The clear, definitive answers to the various questions are very helpful...almost. I say almost, because I wonder if you're doing members a disservice with such emphatic answers without stating upon which rules you are basing your answers.   Read more...

Retiree Visa for Canadian citizens or Canadian residents?
Posted date : Jul 17, 2015.
Is the potential "Retiree Visa" for Canadian citizens or Canadian residents? Constitutional Challenge to Provincial Regulations?
Posted date : Oct 10, 2013.
Has anyone ever launched a constitutional challenge to the provincial regulations? It seems to me that most snowbirds find the potential loss of their health-care policy such a fearsome threat that they are effectively denied that fundamental mobility right that is theirs under the Constitution.   Read more...

Subtracting Time From Six Months

I would like to see a report such as the one which you have on the provinces' health care: which states have passed such laws, which are pending, what documents they want, do you have to carry these with you, or can you leave them where you are staying, governors' responses to our concerns...   Read more...

Provincial Picnics at Fort DeSoto
Posted date : Dec 06, 2010.
Dear Bird Talk: For a number of years, we have attended and enjoyed the Prince Edward Island picnic held annually at Fort DeSoto Park in Florida. We understand that the Canadian Snowbird Association, and we believe Medipac Travel Insurance, sponsor this fun day (and other provincial picnics), so we are writing to you regarding a real concern we have about the recent newspaper stories indicating that Pinellas County officials are seriously considering a $5 per vehicle charge to enter their parks.   Read more...
