A recent study has found that women recovering from breast cancer treatment are not informed of the risk of cancer recurrence. The Canadian Breast Cancer Network (CBCN) discovered that only one in 10 women surveyed is aware of her risk of relapse after five years of hormonal breast cancer treatment.

The study also found that 50 per cent of those surveyed did not feel that they received adequate information pertaining to risk of recurrence, and 50 per cent found that they did not receive information pertaining to treatment options available to reduce this risk. If you are currently undergoing breast cancer treatment or have received treatment in the past, ask your doctor about the various options available to help you remain cancer-free.
