Get Your Passport Ready to Travel

Summer CSANews Issue 67  |  Posted date : Jul 22, 2008.Back to list

If you will be travelling this fall, don’t wait until the last minute to apply for your passport or to renew an existing one. Passports can be renewed up to six months ahead of their expiry date. Please note that you must have six clear months left on your passport – after your scheduled return-home date – for it to be accepted for international travel (including the United States).

While you still do not require a passport to drive to the United States by automobile, you do require a passport to fly into or out of the U.S.  Unexpected emergencies may make air travel a necessity, so don’t limit your options by not carrying a passport.

The deadline for requiring a passport to enter the U.S. by land and sea remains as June 1, 2009.
