If you are feeling sluggish and are considering purchasing an energy drink the next time you are browsing in the convenience store, consider this. The only active ingredient in all of these energy drinks that will give you a "boost" or make you feel wired is caffeine. Most of these cocktails contain caffeine equal to two or three cups of coffee. Claims that their vitamin or herbal additives provide you with an energy boost are false. These products slip through the cracks of government regulation because they are classified and marketed as dietary supplements.
