Certain antibiotics mixed with blood pressure medication cause a severe and dramatic increase in the risk of hypotension. Erythromycin  and Clarithromycin affect  the body's enzyme necessary for metabolizing Calcium Channel Blockers. 

This amplifies  the effect of the blood pressure medication, resulting in blood pressure that is  too low, causing dizziness, fainting, shock and even death.
