Letter from the Editor Issue 48

Fall 2003 CSANews Issue 48  |  Posted date : Apr 25, 2007.Back to list

I am buried in your survey responses and Early Bird Insurance applications. And I am happy.

Medipac is in the midst of another record year for travel insurance sales and your suggestions in the "It's Just Not Fair" project have a great deal to do with this success. Your answers from our previous survey also played an important part in fine tuning our products to your needs.

This issue of CSANews is being finalized on a beautiful summer weekend and approximately 10 of our staff are writing, designing, laying out stories and preparing for our print deadline of 10:00 AM Monday morning. We lost several days work during the Great Blackout of 2003 when the power grid collapsed and most of the Central and Eastern Seaboard went "dark." Well, at least the threatened postal strike did not materialize.

As we prepare for our winter getaway, three of our major concerns are telephone, health insurance and money, not necessarily in that order. We have included inserts with the magazine to sign up for AT&T and the CSA Currency Exchange Program and hopefully you took advantage of Medipac's Early Bird Insurance prices. If not, give us a call at 1-888-MEDIPAC.

CSANews is also putting some more "beef" in our content. We have convinced Dr. Robert M. MacMillan, MD, CCFP, FCFP (affectionately known as Dr. Bob) to join the Medipac Team. He will also be a regular columnist writing on the, often confusing, health issues we all face today. Dr. Bob has worked for, and consulted to, several international health insurers and in his previous life was the Executive Director of the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). He was also a founding Director and President of the Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada. His first contribution is on the subject of Osteoporosis and I believe you will learn as much as I have. If you have a favourite subject, or health topic of interest, please drop us a note at CSANews and we will pass it on to Dr. Bob for his consideration.

Enjoy the read.

Sincerely,

J. Ross Quigley
