Dundee and the CSA

Summer 1999 CSANews Issue 32  |  Posted date : Mar 02, 2007.Back to list

For those of you interested in financial planning issues (and these days, who isn't?), you'll be pleased to know that the CSA has renewed its alliance with Fortune Financial, soon to be under the umbrella of Dundee Wealth Management Inc., a subsidiary of Dundee Bancorp.

After August, 1999, the Dundee Bancorp purchase of Fortune Financial and Infinity Mutual Funds will be complete. The new corporate entity, Dundee Wealth Management will control Dundee Securities (fully licensed sales representatives), Fortune Investments (mutual fund sales), Private Investor Management Services, and Dynamic, Power and Infinity mutual funds. This new company will have in excess of 600 sales representatives across Canada and approximately $15 billion in assets under management and administration.

Fortune (Dundee) is very excited about its relationship with the Canadian Snowbird Association. To make the most of this unique opportunity, this partnership has planned a full schedule of public seminars this summer and fall beginning in Lethbridge, Alberta on July 9.

Each of these seminars is free of charge and I will endeavor to provide CSA members with conservative tax, retirement and estate-planning information, all of which is based on the CSA-sponsored television series and book, "Death and Taxes."

At each of these important events, CSA members will learn new mutual fund, investment, tax and estate-planning strategies to potentially save thousands of tax dollars, help maximize retirement income and preserve the value of estates for the benefit of family members. Members will also have the opportunity to hear from a local CSA director about new and exciting information regarding CSA member benefits, advocacy issues and the Medipac out-of-country travel medical insurance program.

In total, a minimum of 35 events will be held for CSA members and prospective members across Canada between July, 1999 and June, 2000. All events will be advertised and marketed with the CSA logo and identification. The alliance between these two influential associations will allow the CSA to profile its many services, benefits and accomplishments to a wide audience, as well as strengthening its advocacy role on behalf of Canadian snowbirds by increasing membership.

In addition to the CSA's alliance with Fortune Financial (Dundee Wealth Management) for the national seminar tour, Fortune (Dundee) will join the CSA in a number of other ventures.

First, Fortune (Dundee) has also agreed to become a "Gold Sponsor" for each of the major CSA Extravaganzas in the United States and Canada. This will include booths at each show and it will be my pleasure to conduct estate-planning presentations and workshops.

Second, you will also find in the text issues of CSA News a special 16-page supplement that is dedicated exclusively to the subject of retirement and estate planning. It will also identify and profile Fortune (Dundee) regional offices and representatives (with contract information) participating in the relationship with the CSA.

As a CSA member, if you choose to utilize the financial planning services offered by Fortune Financial (Dundee Wealth Management), you will receive an Eight Point Code of Conduct commitment from your local Fortune (Dundee) representative prior to opening your account.

The alliance also brings the CSA an association with one of Canada's strongest and most respected independent financial planning firms. Dundee is a member of the Investment Dealers Association.

We sincerely hope that you will attend the event(s) in your community (and certainly feel free to bring your friends).
