This past January and February were exciting months for the Canadian Snowbird Association, as record numbers of snowbirds attended and joined the CSA at the Snowbird Extravaganzas in Florida, California, Arizona and Texas. Our sincere thanks to all of you who came out and shared your "day" with us at these events. Your enthusiastic support helped all of these shows to be successful and enjoyable for the sponsors, keynote speakers, exhibitors and entertainers. Ronnie and Glory-Anne Prophet returned, by popular demand, to headline each of these events, and they received standing ovations.

For the first time, the very popular Internet Café feature areas also became part of the Extravaganzas in California, Arizona and Texas. The Internet Cafés were interactive and extremely busy feature areas at each show, as a result of the thousands of snowbirds who stopped by to go "online" and receive "one-on-one" complimentary instruction from the very knowledgeable and friendly representatives from AOL and Gateway Computers at each event.

After six years at the Florida State Fairgrounds in Tampa, Snowbird Extravaganza moved to The Lakeland Center, due to this year's Super Bowl being held in Tampa. What a show it was! Record numbers of snowbirds came to this recently expanded "state-of-the-art" venue in Lakeland. All the staff of the Lakeland Center were outstanding in their preparation and support of this event, and really put their "best foot forward" for us. The Main Stage in the Youkey Theater was full both days of the show, and tens of thousands of other attendees also enjoyed the entertainment that took place on other stages throughout the show. Due to the overwhelming majority of sponsors, exhibitors and attendees preferring this venue versus the Tampa Fairgrounds, the show will be returning to Lakeland again next January.
