Certain offices of the United States Government have requested that the CSA keep track of border crossing incidents that go a little over the line.

If you do encounter unusual circumstances when crossing the Canadian/U.S. border, DO NOT STATE THAT YOU ARE REPORTING THEM TO THE CSA!!!

This will only create obstacles for our association when we try to work effectively with our valued neighbors.

What you can do to help everyone work towards an even friendlier border crossing experience is take note of the following information and forward it to the offices of the Canadian Snowbird Association for reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Your Name, CSA Membership Number, the Names of all Vehicle Occupants travelling with you, Car Model and Colour, Plate Number, Border Crossing Point, Date, Time, Border Officials Name, Border Officials Badge Number, Identification you presented for entry, and a brief description of the incident.

Recently there has been a notable increase in the theft of luxury vehicles.

Do you think your vehicle is safe because it has an anti-theft device? Think again, many thieves simply break into the vehicle owner's home and steal the keys.

So when at home take some preventative steps to protect your car...

• If you have a garage, use it and lock it
• Back a rear wheel drive car into its' parking spot
• Front wheel drive cars should be parked front first
• Always set the emergency "parking" brake
• Don't leave the ownership or insurance card in the vehicle when unattended
• Do Not leave your keys by the front door

Try to stay one step ahead of potential thieves and don't leave your keys, or any of your valuables, in predictable places.
