| Every January and February, the CSA keeps in touch with our members through Snowbird Extravaganzas in Florida, Arizona and Texas, as well as through our Winter Information Meeting tour. These events provide us with a wonderful opportunity to speak with existing members and, hopefully, "round up" some new ones.
The outreach does not begin and end with our event participation, however.
We have representatives from our board of directors in each sunbelt state. If you are a member of an organization and you would like a CSA director to attend a get-together to discuss travel, and the CSA of course, or to act as keynote speaker at a club or conference, call our office at
1-800-265-3200 and we will do our best to arrange for a director to attend your function.
Over the past few months, CSA directors across the country have become key resources for the media in their provinces. When a press release is sent out, our directors try to ensure that the local press is also aware of our work. As a result of their efforts, we have received media exposure in areas in which we would not normally have been profiled.
We are thrilled that members of the CSA are joining us in our initiatives. A wonderful couple, Sally Banks and Gerry Luttmer, are members who are ardent boosters of the association. They have been promoting the CSA for many years and, in the past, have offered a 'snowbird' course through a local community college in Alberta.
Throughout the summer, Sally and Gerry take part in many rallies and are constantly promoting the CSA. We're sure that their word-of-mouth advertising is giving our membership base a huge boost. Thank you, Sally and Gerry, and thank you to the many other members across Canada who are our strong promoters and allies.
This year, guests at the Snowbird Lifestyle Presentations enjoyed a remarkable show regardless of the location. Our tour took us to five venues in Ontario including Nepean, Kitchener, Markham, Mississauga and Hamilton. We were pleased to have joining us, CSA favourites Ronnie Prophet (everywhere except Ottawa) and Randy Brooks from Branson, Tom Leadbeater, Lesley Andrew and Peter Marino from Ontario.
CSA President Ellen White attended each event, meeting with CSA members and delivering her keynote address. These meetings provided the perfect opportunity for our guests to learn, first hand, what the association is doing and our goals for the future.
Once again, we're calling out for volunteers - if you can lend a hand at any of our events, please don't hesitate to give us a call. Volunteers are always needed and we welcome any time you can share with us. If you are available to assist us at one of our U.S.-based events, all we need now is your name and U.S. phone number. Closer to the date, we'll be in touch to find out how you would like to help out. We can be reached at
1-800-265-3200. |
