nce again, it is time for many of us to make the trip
down to the sunny south. If you are driving, make
sure that you get your vehicle checked for safety
before you set out. Hopefully, we will all arrive at our
destination safe and sound.
It has been quite a busy summer with both political
meetings and the Snowbird Lifestyle Presentations. Joan
and I attended the presentations in Niagara Falls and Parry
Sound; this gave us a chance to meet many old friends
as well as some new ones. These meetings were a great
success and I am sure that everyone enjoyed both the
entertainment and the president’s message.
One of my political meetings was with Garfield Dunlop…
my local MPP. I asked him if he would speak to the minister
of health for Ontario and ask why we as Canadians are not
allowed to travel anywhere in our great country at any
time and still retain our health-care privileges. After all
we are Canadians not just Ontarians. The health minister
replied that, in order to retain our health care, we must be
physically present in Ontario for 153 days each year.
I have already received several invitations to speak at
Canadian Clubs in Florida, and other directors across the
southern states have also received requests. If you would
like a director to speak at your club free of charge, just

and the rocket's red glare,
the bombs bursting in air,
gave proof thru the night that our
flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled
