Re: Substantial presence test
Does anyone know whether day trips to the USA to buy gas, shop or play a round of golf are used in calculating the substantial presence test?

Ed: Yes, they are counted. Any day, or part of a day, is counted as one full day. If you travel for six months, then these little side trips would be another reason to hope for a proper snowbird visa.
