We (snowbirds) spend millions of dollars every year in the U.S. Why is it so hard for U.S. politicians to pass a bill to have the time spent in the U.S. by Canadian snowbirds increased to eight months? Does the U.S. not like our money?

NEXUS renewal

We have had our NEXUS renewal applications submitted and paid for since August 2022. Our current cards expire in August 2023. We have not heard anything from the Canadian or American border people. Is there any group or government representative we can contact to follow up on our renewal status?

8840 versus I94

My I94 indicates that we can stay until June, but the rolling year puts us at ‘over by five days’ in February 2023 for the 8840. Why the discrepancy? Which should I use? Anyone got any insights?

Confusing time limit

It is very confusing how to fill out the FORM 8840. Say I arrive in the U.S. on November 15 of a given year and stay until April 28 of the following year. My question is, do I count only from November 15 to December 31 on one Form 8840 and then “save” the rest (January 1 to April 28) for the next year

Canada-U.S.-Canada round trip cruise

I am taking an 11-night Alaskan cruise which departs from Vancouver, visits several Alaskan ports and then returns back to Vancouver. I plan to get off of the ship for a few hours at four of the Alaskan ports. Do any of these days count as time spent in the U.S. by the IRS or the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agency?
