Tampa, Florida: Saying "sky high" enjoyment's not enough, Medipac International, producer of Snowbird Extravaganza is promising universe-wide entertainment at their Internet Café.

For two days, January 22 and 23, the Florida State Fairgrounds will become the playground for tens of thousands of snowbirds, American winter residents, 50+ 'boomers' and active seniors. The fifth annual Snowbird Extravaganza will introduce thousands to the wonders of cyber-space, in addition to delighting them with an entertainment marquee that includes Master of Ceremonies, Juno Award winner Ronnie Prophet. Also performing will be Branson, Missouri Entertainer of the Year Jennifer Wilson, Bill and Randy Brooks from the epic musical, "the Promise," two-time Grammy nominee Barbara Fairchild, Branson favorite Glory-Anne Prophet, and David Bradley and Clint Johnson from Country Tonite.

"For people who travel to Florida and other sunbelt states for extended periods of time, the Internet is an invaluable communication tool," said Don Bundock, Internet specialist for the CSA. "It encourages a pen-pal system between children and grandchildren letter-writing is a lost art - with the popularity of video games, kids don't have the patience for putting pen to paper. A letter sent by e-mail takes just moments. Grandparents can play a key role in helping their grandchildren rediscover the importance - and beauty - of written communication."

Computer classes in retirement communities and mobile home parks are just the beginning - recent statistics put the over-55 crowd leading the pack in new computer purchases and as new Internet users growing at more than 50% each year. Now, 86% of older users are letting their fingers do the walking on a keyboard every day. Visitors to Snowbird Extravaganza will do their walking among 10 Internet stations, fully staffed by professionals from America On Line to answer any questions.

"We have a partnership with AOL Canada whereby our members can access their accounts anywhere in North America without incurring a surcharge," continued Bundock. "It's an incredible deal for anyone who travels. I'm sure that many of the people who will be at Snowbird Extravaganza don't realize how truly extraordinary the Internet has become. We're going to show them the world."

Snowbird Extravaganza, January 22 and 23, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Florida State Fairgrounds. Admission and entertainment are free, parking is $5.
