Travels of Gerry and Joan

Summer 2010 CSANews Issue 75  |  Posted date : Jul 20, 2010.Back to list

Well! What a change in the weather. Last year, we had a bad summer in Ontario and an equally bad winter in Florida, but WOW! What a great start to this summer season.

In May, I was the guest speaker at the Ontario Provincial Police Veterans' Association annual general meeting in Orillia. This meeting was also attended by the deputy commissioner of the OPP Chris Lewis, MP Bruce Stanton, MPP Garfield Dunlop and almost 200 veterans and spouses. This was a great meeting which wound up with a nice banquet at which Sean Emery – the juggling comedian - entertained. Everyone enjoyed the evening. Most of you will remember Sean from the Extravaganzas and Winter Information Meetings.
That was a busy week for Joan and me, as we also had a CSA board meeting during the days.

The directors of the CSA are looking for companies that have retirement clubs at which the retirees get together for lunch or dinner meetings. The directors would like the opportunity to make a presentation at these events.
If you are a member of such a club or know of a club, please contact the office with information about who should be contacted. Also, if you are a member of a Canada Club in the U.S. and would like a director to attend and talk about the CSA, we would be happy to help. Call us at 1-800-265-3200.

This summer, I will be attending political functions and speaking at company events in an effort to get new members for the association. If you know of someone who travels south during the winter and is not a CSA member, tell them all about us and remember to tell them to say that you recommended them. When you have recruited five new members, you will receive a FREE one-year membership.

Many of our members have been with us for several years and pay their dues annually. You know, you can save money by signing up for multiple years and, if you wish to become a Lifetime member, we will deduct the amount of money which you have paid over the past four years... your Lifetime membership will only cost you $225.00 - a saving of $100.00.

Take care and stay safe and healthy.
