Don't Let Your Dryer Suffer a Burn Out!

One of our loyal readers wrote in and shared her wisdom in the art of drying clothes. Simply removing the lint from the mesh catcher in your clothes dryer after each load of laundry leaves your dryer susceptible to burn out!

Over time, fabric sheet (i.e. Bounce) residue can build up on the mesh liner preventing air from flowing through the exhaust system, which can eventually lead to the burn out of the heating unit in your dryer.

To test your lint catcher for clogging, run it under cold water and see if it holds the water.

To unclog the lint catcher, wash it with a toothbrush and hot, soapy water.

It is a good idea to follow this regimen every six months to increase the lifespan of your dryer.
