The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is one of our most important and effective charities. For more than 50 years, the Foundation has worked in communities like yours, providing health information to the public and raising funds for critical heart disease and stroke research.

Heart disease and stroke combined are the leading cause of death and disability in Canada. Many of the answers about heart disease and stroke have come through Heart and Stroke Foundation funded research – research that not only saves lives and prevents disability, but also improves the quality of life for people living with heart disease and stroke. The Heart and Stroke Foundation receives no core funding from the government, relying entirely on the support of thousands of public and corporate donors and volunteers across Canada.

Medipac has always believed that you must give back to your community and, in addition to our many other initiatives this year, we decided to help support the Heart and Stroke Foundation's important work. Our Early Bird Insurance Program was the ideal place to launch this support and we will be contributing $5 to the Heart and Stroke Foundation for every policy that we issue. We hope and expect to reach our initial target of $50,000 by the August 12th deadline.

I would also encourage you to "get involved". Volunteering for the Foundation is an excellent way to contribute to your community and truly make a difference. You can learn more about volunteering and get more information at the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada's website www.heartandstroke.ca or simply call your local office and say, "What can I do to help?"
