CSANews Issue 139 — Summer 2026 Edition
Whew, it’s hot!

We came to Florida following the passing of one of our great friends, Anne Weylie. She was the wife of Wallace Weylie ‒ the legal counsel to the Canadian Snowbird Association ‒ and we worked and travelled with them for more than 30 years. Anne was a fighter; she battled cancer bravely for several years and now she is at peace. We will, of course, miss her but we will always have the fond memories of our great times together.
We have always traveled to Florida to escape the winter cold, but now I understand why a few of our American friends head north for the summer. Now, we have to escape the heat. It is 95 plus out there with oppressive humidity. Thank God for air conditioning.
Coming here for a week or two is fine, but you get to see what the grass cutter and the pool maintenance guy have done or, shall I say, not done. We have security cameras to monitor our property, but they do not really show the upkeep required. If you do not have cameras, I would strongly suggest that you get them. They are very inexpensive, are fun to view when at home and have helped the police out on many occasions.
Have a wonderful Canadian summer and stay healthy and hydrated for best results.
