In Ontario, the new hands-free cell phone law came into effect on October 26, 2009. If you’re driving and need to use your cell phone, you have two choices: use a hands-free device such as a Bluetooth headset, or face a fine of up to $500.

• Snowbird report card reveals most provinces breaching the Canada Health Act CNW.ca - Mar 17, 2010. TORONTO, March 17 /CNW/ - Only Prince Edward Island and the Canadian territories and are living up to the requirement of the Canada Health Act to provide portable, universal health care for the more than 53 million trips Canadians take abroad each year, according to the 3rd edition of the Canadian Travellers' Report Card, released today by the Canadian Snowbird Association.
• Loonie soars on jobs report CBC News - Mar 12, 2010. A strong jobs report pushed the Canadian dollar to its highest point in nearly two years on Friday. The Canadian dollar was trading at 98.35 cents US a little before noon Friday, up 0.72 of a cent.

We have been members of the Canadian Snowbird Association and do enjoy your quarterly magazine. For 20 years, we have been travelling to Florida from Alberta for four or five months each winter and have had no problem filling prescriptions from our doctors to cover the time we were away.

Medical Expenses due to Swine Flu Illness are Fully Covered for Travelling Canadians Insured under Medipac Travel Insurance Policies May 01, 2009. Many travel insurance plans in Canada are refusing to pay for medical expenses relating to the current swine flu epidemic.
